Meet the Trust Services Department

Leslie Cairns
Association Treasurer

Leslie joined the department February, 2013, from the corporate world of accounting. She came to the conference with more than 15 years of accounting experience. Since her employment with the Oregon Conference, she loves being part of a team that helps promote God’s work. Outside of work, Leslie enjoys spending time with her two daughters and dog. Actively involved in her church, she  is the Director of the Vancouver Adventurer Club and helps out in Junior Sabbath school and Pathfinders.

Herald Follett
Legal Counsel

Herald, it seems, has always been involved in the Planned Giving and Trust Services department, even though his legal career has involved him on behalf of other charitable organizations, including some in Russia. A former Director of our department, we rely on Herald for advice on many aspects of our work.

Glen Gessele
Planned Giving Consultant

Glen joined the department in 1993, coming from a pastorate of seven years in Hillsboro. He has served Washington, Yamhill and Polk counties, as well as the southern part of the Oregon Conference from Klamath Falls to the coast since then. He is also certified as a trust officer by the General Conference. Glen is always ready to answer your planned giving questions with a smile - and perhaps, a story from North Dakota! He enjoys gardening, bird watching, insects, and butterflies.

Gary Parks
Planned Giving Consultant

Gary joined the department in mid 2012 after serving 13 plus years as the senior pastor of the East Salem church. He has a passion for Jesus and for helping people realize the freedom He offers. He serves the I-5 corridor from Portland to Roseburg, which includes Clackamas, Marion, Linn, Benton, Lane and Douglas counties. Gary is certified as a trust officer by the General Conference. Gary’s passions are his family, his God, and living life to its fullest. He enjoys biking, music, and being active.

Ted Perry
Planned Giving Consultant

Ted joined the department in 2014 after teaching at Livingstone Adventist Academy for 13 plus years. He serves the I-5 corridor from Portland to Roseburg, as well as Bend and The Dalles. As a trust officer, Ted has a desire to help people work through decisions. He enjoys kayaking, running, biking and music.

Ivalee Clark
Administrative & Legal Assistant

Ivalee came to the department in 1994, after working at the North Pacific Union Office for over 20 years – she says she started very young! She is our department receptionist. Her major responsibilities are as legal assistant to the department legal counsel and the attorneys who provide our estate documents, and her work as an administrative assistant for consultant Glen Gessele. When Ivalee has free time, she hikes, watches birds, skis cross country and sews.

Nancy Rader
Administrative Assistant

Nancy came to our department in September of 2011, after having worked nearly eight years for Project PATCH. Prior to that, she worked as a legal assistant/paralegal for 17 years. Her responsibilities in Trust Services include supporting Trust Officers Gary Parks and Ted Perry, and working with Attorney Herald Follett on Washington property matters. Her interests include birding, reading and enjoying time with family and friends.
